I’m Michelle Heidenreich, the artist behind Afterglow Bodypaint—a project born from my love for color, skin, and the magic hidden in the everyday.
The brand emerged in 2021 while I was studying artistic makeup at LCI Bogotá. During that process, I discovered that bodypaint was more than just a technique—it was a form of connection, a conversation between art and the person who carries it.
The name Afterglow comes from my fascination with twilight skies—the glow that lingers after the sun has set.
To me, those hues are a metaphor for art: something that illuminates for a moment, yet leaves a lasting impression.
That’s what I seek with every creation—to offer people a moment of light, a touch of magic that transforms how they see and feel themselves.
My work is not just about painting bodies; it’s about accompanying human experiences.
I’ve witnessed how body art can become a path to reconnect with the body, to rediscover oneself, to cultivate self-love.
In every session, there are laughter, silences, conversations—emotions that linger as color takes shape.
My brush moves with intuition: sometimes guided by what the client envisions, other times by what my soul feels called to paint.
And in the end, something beautiful always happens: art and the person recognize each other.
Art on the skin is not just color.
It’s a reminder that we are magic, even on the most ordinary days.
Since my first brushstrokes in 2020, I have sought to merge technique, sensitivity, and artistic direction.
I am a Professional Technician in Artistic and Professional Makeup, graduated from LCI Bogotá, where I developed my awarded thesis “Auf der Suche der Danach”—a series of three bodypaint pieces that explore the vision of the soul after death through the lens of religion.
During this process, I specialized in bodypaint with a focus on stage and audiovisual production, developing a comprehensive perspective on art on the skin and its photographic representation.
I further complemented my education at Zona Cinco, School of Film and Photography, with diplomas in Professional Photography, Product Photography, and Art Direction.
Later, I completed a diploma in Direction and Management of Art Exhibitions and Events at Universidad del Rosario, as well as a diploma in Photography and Video Business Management.
I have worked on editorial, portrait, and product photography projects, as well as in artistic, social, and cosplay makeup, art direction, bodypaint, and event activations.
Among my most notable experiences are participating for three consecutive years at ComicCon Bogotá with my own stand, working at Festival Estéreo Picnic 2024 at the Chevrolet booth, and collaborating with photographers, brands, and production companies on a variety of creative projects.
Today, through Afterglow Bodypaint, I develop my work from Bogotá, combining studio sessions, on-location projects, and live events.
I have my own creative space, but I also adapt to each client’s environment—always ensuring that the process is comfortable, human, and full of meaning.
MY ARTISTIC PHILOSOPHY
I paint on bodies, but also on stories.
I believe in an art that embraces diversity—one that celebrates all shapes, ages, and genders.
I’m not looking for the “perfect” body; I’m looking for the real person—the one who dares to experience being both canvas and artwork at the same time.
My art is born from detail, observation, and emotion.
Sometimes it’s an intimate and quiet process; other times, a vibrant celebration of color and energy.
In every case, I aim for each stroke to become a dialogue between my sensitivity and the essence of the person in front of me.
To me, bodypaint is living art: it breathes, it moves, it pulses.
It’s ephemeral, yes—but it leaves an invisible mark in the memory of those who experience it.
And that’s what I love most: knowing that somewhere in my clients’ hearts, a piece of that afterglow is still shining.
